“For solo travelers seeking functional comfort at a reasonable price, this historic hotel, located above a traditional bar, offers clean, if basic, accommodation with commendably kind service. The central location is convenient to Bedford's transport links and dining, though light sleepers should note the potential for weekend noise; overall, a solid choice where the friendly welcome stands out.”

adequate, i guess.

shared bathroomoutdated decor
The shared bathroom situation was less than ideal. One morning i found myself waiting an eternity just to brush my teeth. the noise at night, oh my, it was like a symphony of drunken chatter and car horns. i swear, earplugs are not optional, they are mandatory. and the room decor, shall we say, time-capsule chic? it seemed like stepping back into a decade i'd rather forget.

The location was great for my needs. The staff was very helpful and showed me where everything was. The owner was also very friendly, I was grateful. They have really tried to make it easy and accommodating for people, which I appreciated.
The building was VERY hot, and so were the rooms. I had to keep the windows open all night. I got bitten by midges during the night as a result. There were also some loud noises outside because there are bars in the area.
